DragonStone Technologies - Terms & Conditions

General Terms:

Ambiguity: To avoid any confusion, the use of first-person pronouns such as “we” or “us” is explicitly defined as DragonStone Technologies, and second-person pronouns such as “you” or “your” refer to the Client.

Service Agreement: By engaging DragonStone Technologies for computer repair, diagnostics, data recovery, custom builds, or related services, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined herein.

Authorization: The Client authorizes DragonStone Technologies to perform the requested services on their computer system or data storage device.

Payment: Payment is due as described in the "Payment Policy" section. We accept Cash, App Payments (like Cashapp), and will soon accept Credit Cards.

Liability: DragonStone Technologies is not responsible for data loss, third-party software issues, or any external damages caused post-build completion and customer pickup. We are also not liable for any loss of data, software, or hardware damage that may occur during the service process, except in cases of gross negligence. DragonStone Technologies is not responsible for any issues caused by improper handling or maintenance by the Client after the service is completed, such as damage from misuse or failure to maintain custom water cooling systems.

Data Privacy: We respect your privacy. Client data will be handled with confidentiality and will not be shared with third parties without client consent, except as required by law.

Abandoned Equipment: Any equipment left unclaimed for 30 days will be considered abandoned and may be disposed of or sold to recover costs.

Governing Law: This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Ohio.

Communication: For each general step of a build or desired service, we can email or call you at your choice and discretion, or just get it all done and notify you of the final total at the end. There will be a checkbox to grant permission for communication during the process. If checked, we will contact you only regarding any action or decision that alters the proposed price, or if your approval is needed for changes.

2. Component & Build Warranties:

Component Warranty: Individual components are covered by their respective manufacturer warranties. The customer is responsible for handling manufacturer warranty claims unless otherwise agreed upon.

Build Warranty: DragonStone PCs include a 4-year diagnostic and repair warranty for issues related to assembly or possible Windows installation issues (Applies only to prebuilt or custom-built PCs). Users are encouraged to explore and upgrade their systems. If an issue arises, honesty about the cause is required and appreciated. If damage occurs due to user actions (e.g., overclocking), the customer may need to pay for a replacement part, but diagnosis and installation will be covered under the warranty. If a component is covered by its own RMA, we will install it free of charge as part of the diagnostic and repair warranty.

3. Repair, Diagnostics, and Maintenance Services:

Repair & Diagnostics: Diagnostic and repair services are limited, and depending on the work desired, could VOID your individual parts warranties.

Basic Diagnostics: $30 - $60 - Basic virus scans and memory cleanup procedures.

Advanced Diagnostics: $60 - $120 - More involved troubleshooting, with the basic package.

Hourly Repair Rate: $45 - $80 per hour. This is based on complexity, at technician discretion, with additional costs added to diagnostics.

Standard PC Maintenance: $90 - Full dusting with a data vac, partial disassembly for deep cleaning, and CPU repasting. If cleaning takes longer than 2 hours, hourly repair rates will apply for each hour after.

DragonStone PC Maintenance (For PCs built by us): $30 - $50. If cleaning takes longer than 4 hours, hourly repair rate ($45) apply.

GPU Repasting and Cleaning: $200 - Disassembling and changing thermal pads.

Computer Tune-Up: $50 - $80 - This service includes software optimization, virus/malware scans, system/driver updates, running CCleaner/REVO Uninstaller, installing Fan Control, and BIOS tuning. This is not a hardware repair, but a software performance improvement package.

Virus/Malware Removal: Virus and malware removal services are provided on a best-effort basis. We cannot guarantee complete removal of all malicious software. $40 - $175.

Software Installation/Configuration: $20 for basic installation, with additional costs if setup or license configuration is required.

Data Transfer: $20 Up Front Fee, Plus $15 an hour, usually rounded from or to the nearest hour, for instance if service was completed at 4:24PM, then we would just say 4:00PM. If it was 4:34PM, We would say 5:00PM.

Data Recovery Services:

• Data Recovery Assessment: A diagnostic assessment is required to determine the feasibility and cost of data recovery. This assessment is subject to an advanced diagnostic fee.

• Recoverable Data: We specialize in recovering data from logical failures, accidental file deletion, and damaged partitions. In cases of mechanical failures, such as a damaged hard drive motor or read/write head, recovery may still be possible, but it will be more complex and expensive.

• Non-Recoverable Data: We do not guarantee recovery for severe mechanical damage (e.g., broken heads, motor failure), extensive physical damage (e.g., fire, water), or data encryption failures if the decryption key is lost. In these cases, recovery is often not feasible.

• Data Integrity: We strive to recover data with integrity, but we are not responsible for any corruption that may occur during the recovery process.

• Pricing: Typically around $200, plus diagnostics. Success of recovery depends on the nature of the issue.

Storage Media: Client is responsible for providing suitable storage media for recovered data.
Pricing: Its’s generally about $200 plus diagnostics for a data recovery job. We have storage devices available at varying prices, based on total storage amount, like a 500GB SSD for $35.

Liability: Due to the nature of data recovery, DragonStone Technologies is not liable for any consequential damages resulting from data loss or failed recovery attempts or any contents of the data recovered therein.

4. Returns & Refunds:

Due to the nature of custom-built computers, all sales are final, with certain exceptions. Any individual component issues are to be addressed via their respective manufacturer warranties. However, we can assist as a bridge of communication between the customer and the manufacturer to facilitate the process.

5. Service Timeframe & Delivery:

Build Time: Build time may vary based on part availability and complexity. Estimated completion: up to 3 days after all parts have arrived to be installed.

Delivery Limitations: Delivery is only available as a direct hand-off, from us to you at your door; we do not ship computers via mail or third-party couriers.

Delivery Fees & Setup: Delivery starts at $20 and increases by $0.55 per mile after 10 miles (one way). Installation and setup (to connect the tower back to an existing setup) is an additional $20. If you need display cables or basic accessories, please mention them before finalizing the sale.

6. Component Pricing & Payment:

Component Pricing Policy: Pricing for components is based on the market price at the time of order, not the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP). We do not apply an upcharge beyond the cost of the parts as they appear on the market. Total taxes is included on your itemized receipt.

Payment Policy: Components must be paid for up front, while the build, delivery, and service fees can be paid once the customer is satisfied with the demonstration before pickup or delivery.

Custom Water Cooling:

Build Time: Custom water cooling setups typically require additional time beyond a standard build, often adding 1.5 to 2 days to the overall project. We recommend planning for up to 5 days for these builds, once all parts have arrived.

Pricing: We charge $65 per hour for custom water cooling setups, plus a $175 build fee.

Watercooling Warning: Due to the extra time and cost associated with custom water cooling setups, we recommend considering an all-in-one (AIO) cooler if you’re looking for a simpler and quicker solution(this is impossible with a Threadripper config, like in our Dragons Bloodstone Prebuilt PC). A custom loop is ideal for performance enthusiasts, but it requires more complex planning and maintenance.

8. Disclaimers:

Pre-Existing Conditions: DragonStone Technologies is not responsible for any pre-existing conditions or damage to the Client's computer system or data storage device.

Third-Party Software: We are not responsible for issues caused by third-party software or hardware, including incompatibilities or malfunctions introduced after service.

Force Majeure: DragonStone Technologies is not liable for delays or failures in service due to events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, power outages, or internet disruptions.

Client Responsibility: The Client is responsible for backing up critical data before engaging our services.

Hardware limitations/Used Parts: Older hardware can cause limitations in software, and speed. With that understanding, we will install virtually anything, but we only source used parts at the request of the client, and only from trusted retailers, i.e. Amazon, Newegg, Jawa(limited), or directly from local stores, not private individuals, we also have a limited stock of used parts on hand, we can provide a list upon request.

9. Greenville, Ohio Specifics:

We are locally owned and operated, serving Greenville, Ohio, and surrounding areas.

We are committed to providing reliable and affordable computer services to our community.

Paid Services: Prices

• Basic Diagnostics: $30 - $60.

• Advanced Diagnostics: $60 - $120.

• Hourly Repair Rate: $45 - $80 per hour.

• Standard PC Maintenance: $90. $150 For heavily soiled or stained PC’s. Both add on an hourly repair rate of $45, after 4 hours, if it takes longer than that to clean your system.

• DragonStone PC’s Maintenance: (For PCs built by us) $20-$50. Price based on size and complexity of the build.

• GPU Repasting and Cleaning: $100 (Includes external dusting and cleaning).

• Computer Tune-Up: (Software optimization, scans, updates) $50. If viruses or unwanted rooted program issues are found, +$30.

• Virus/Malware Removal: $40-$175.

• Software Installation/Configuration: $20. Client provides licenses.

• Data Recovery Assessment: Advanced Diagnostic Fee

• Data Recovery Services: Cost dependent on recovery, Typically around $200 + Diagnostic (from initial assessment).

• Delivery Fees: Starts at $20, plus $0.55 a mile after 10 miles.

• Installation and Setup: $20 flat rate if we’re just hooking up your tower and making sure it works, or $20 + $30 per hour if setting up an entire desk and setup, not just connecting your tower. (This needs to be discussed prior to ordering or delivering so we allot the time potentially needed to complete your installation)

• Component Costs: Market price at the time of order, Plus their tax from the marketplace.

• Custom Water Cooling: $65 an hour plus $150 build fee. (and the cost of the water-cooling components.)

• Build Fees: Starts at $90, Will be more for a themed or otherwise more complex build, Paid upon build completion. We offer a budget build package for a $60 build fee, where the total build is less than $1500 and takes less than a day to complete, test, and tune. For our preconfigured or prebuilt tiers, themed after gemstones or minerals, there is a build fee of $60 that is factored into the price, with the exception of the Dragons Bloodstone Tier 6, which incurs a custom build fee of $150.

• Windows Costs: Windows 11 is all we can reliably offer, for safety and stability. Windows 11 Home is $150. Windows 11 Pro is $215.
  

• Taxes: As mentioned in the component costs, components have their taxes included in the price of the build, outside of this, there is a tax on the build fee, or service fees therein(combined into a total before tax if both are present), and there is sales tax on any extra items that were not part of a custom build, cleaning or maintenance service, or other offered service with applicable hourly rates, base prices, and addons therein.

Free Services (or Services Included in Other Paid Services):

• Diagnostic and Repair Warranty (4 years): For assembly/Windows issues on our custom or our premade builds.

• RMA Component Installation: Got a dead GPU in a system we built? And its covered under its own warranty?? We’ll swap them out for free! MUST be a system we built. 

• Assistance with Manufacturer Warranty Claims: We can talk to manufacturers for you! (applies only to our PC’s)

• Initial Consultations/Estimates: For our first meeting and discussing what kind of build you want, or what kind of problem you are having.
